The biggest Headis tournament of all times will take place on 12/6/2014 in the hometown of Headis, in Kaiserslautern!!!!

We have several Specials and “Geilheiten” for you, that make this year’s last tournament unforgettable: The biggest “Rundlauf” of all times, a tombola, where everyone without any exceptions wins a great price and the Secret DJ’s team on the after show party are only three of the highlights to celebrate Christmas and Headis with you in December. For all participants the participation fee includes, of course, an event shirt and 2 overnight stays in Kaiserslautern. You can sleep in the hall from Friday to Saturday and from Saturday to Sunday. The entry free after show party goes down only 200 m away from the tournament! Clenched “Geilheit” in one spot!

We want to have as many tournament participants in Kaiserslautern, as never before. New standards are put. Everybody is invited to this unique event! We are equipped with more than 20 tables so come to Kaiserslautern with anyone you can grab and be present when the special mood of this tournament hits its peak!

• Every player that “brings” another player (to his /her first tournament) receives a tombola lot. For every additional player you get an additional lot! Every lot wins and the prices are really awesome!!! The new player does not come away empty-handed of course!
• We play the biggest “Rundlauf” of all times! The most successful male and female players receive a Wildcard for the Headis masters on January 17^th!
• Best Dress Contest: Show the nicest / most mad outfits on the tournament and enjoy the other costumes. (Dressing up is not a must!)

The last Headis tournament in Saarbrucken is already a while ago. Since then a lot has happened. A large part of the tournament players from today had never played Headis before the last cup in January, 2010 and it was not to be seen how many participants would come to the third cup after more than 4 years. Astonishing 82 players appeared this Saturday in Saarbrooklyn! Among the 82 players everything was represented: Besides eight top 10 players of the boys there were several novices and many players from Saarbrucken. Also the world champion of 2007, “Fefe the Gripper” and the former world’s number one player “Mitch”, who has not played a tournament since the world championship in 2012, started.

The semi-finals were arranged. From now on all plays were delivered on only one table. The girl’s first semi-final was “missing Pepper” against “Schmoffkopf”. First it looked like the current world champion, as three weeks before, could beat “Schmoffkopf” when she won the first set with 11:7. However, “Schmoffkopf” was determined to win from the first up to the last second, the momentum turned and she won with 7:11 – 11:9 – 11:7. The second semi-final of the girls was clearer. “Headi Bobics of young Tatapan” gave “Headerella”, who played her first semi-final no chances and entered the finale versus “Schmoff”.

The boys were as fired up as the girls. “Spiff” and “Sniper Schorsch”, who played their 89th tournament together, met in the first semi-final! None of both lacked experience. “Sniper” was able to win the first set masterfully with 11:5. The “Spiffer” was not impressed by it, and won the second set with 11:3. Spiff could use the momentum and finally won the match with 5:11 – 11:3 – 11:8. In the second semi-final it came to the new edition of the Masters-Finals: “Lauch” against “Headbrötchen”. “Lauchgesicht” lost the first set with 12:14. However, at the end he was able to win with 12:14 – 11:7 – 11:5.

In the women’s finale “Schmoffkopf” and the “young Tatapan” met each other. Both were motivated to the maximum! Both fan camps did their best! In the end the “young Tatapan” won a hard fought match with 11:6 – 12:10 and made the 11th tournament victory perfect. The third place went to “Red Hot Chili Headers missing Pepper”.

After “Headbrötchen mit Zwiebeln” won the third place with 11:8 – 11:8 in a good match that he dominated, everything was arranged for the finale of the boys: “Lauchgesicht” against “Spiff”. The crowd cooked and the mood was bombastic. It was a brutally strong match. “Lauchgesicht”, who over in his young years in Headis learned a lot from the “Spiffer” was defensively strong as his opponent. Thanks to the bigger offensive strength “Lauchgesicht” is able to win 11:8 – 11:8 and celebrates the third victory in four weeks after the Headness in Münster and the Master in Kaiserslautern!

However, the absolute highlight of the tournament followed with the winner’s honour. For several minutes the second-placed “Spiff” received standing ovations from fans of all camps – no matter if Trier, Goettingen, Cologne, Kaiserslautern or Saarbrucken! After he could play only very few tournaments during the past months, one thing remains: Spiff is not back. He was never away!

A gigantic thank-you goes to everybody who made this day possible. To all players, every spectator, the boys and girls of the Catering and the Orga. We love Headis.

Hearts, Heads and Balls

The scenery was perfect to award the most important title in the HEADIS-Circus after the world championship on the past weekend. An mysterious path of golden sand led 30 participants of the MASTER HEADIS in 2014 by a big stone gate to an unreal scenery which may be classified into the category “special”. A gigantic stone quarry in the woods southern of Kaiserslautern stretched itself out before the men and women who had qualified in 2013 for the prestigious tournament. Only the best players from the last year compete with each other more than two days in the dust of the stone quarry to take the glorious tournament victory home with them!

However, this is easier said than done with the elite participant field of this tournament. 16 players from the top 20 of the world rankings participated, under it the world’s number one Headis player and world champion of 2013 “Headsinfarkt” (Cologne), the world champion of 2012 and 2014 “Heineken” (Goettingen), titleholder “Headbrötchen mit Zwiebeln” (Cologne), the newly-wed champion with the Headness “Lauchgesicht” (Goettingen) and of course the inventor of the play himself, neo-German “Headi Potter” (Kaiserslautern). Also with ten women almost everything was present what is of honor, standing and reputation. At short notice merely “Eligator” (Goettingen) had to call off her start.

First, however, the women searched their champion and on this weekend there was no way to pass by “Red Hot Chilli Headers missing Pepper”. This also had to be recognized by “Schmoffkopf” without envy, as she congratulated the inhabitant of Saarbrücken to hard and great match that ended with a tournament victory. Afterwards it was even more intense with the men. “Lauchgesicht” won his first set and also played a precise and sharp ball in the second set. Nevertheless, “Headbrötchen” gave his best once again and won the second set. “Lauchgesicht” stayed unimpressed and hardly made any mistakes and again served his volleys with deadly precision. At the end “Lauchgesicht” could celebrate for the second time within two weeks and may be called HEADIS MASTER 2014 until the next tournament! The places three and four went to “Headsinfarkt” and “Wurstverkäufer” for the men and “Headinho” (Goettingen) and “Red Hot Chilli Header” (Saarbrucken) for the women.

Oh, the last place and the price of the best player’s name went in the local hero “McLovin, die ausgeleierte Dreilochstute” (Kaiserslautern). Good job, boy!

ES GIBT NICHTS GRÖßERES! – Da wird uns nach diesem Wochenende niemand wiedersprechen! Von der Stimmung, dem Spielniveau, unseren Partnern bis hin zur traditionellen Aftershowparty fällt uns nur ein Wort ein: Weltklasse! Daher bedanken wir uns diesmal schon zu Beginn bei allen Unterstützern, Zuschauern und natürlich Spielern. Ohne euch wäre Headis nicht das was es ist. Für diejenigen, die leider nicht dabei sein konnten oder aufgrund der Party Erinnerungslücken haben hier noch einmal alle Details des Wochenendes:

Bereits am Freitag, 25. Juli, um 17 Uhr begann die diesjährige Headis-Weltmeisterschaft mit der ersten Gruppe. Obwohl die besten 16 Spieler der WM automatisch für die Hauptrunde am folgenden Samstag gesetzt waren, gaben die Qualifikationsgruppen bereits einen guten Aufschluss darüber, welch hohes Niveau nötig sein wird, um dieses Jahr Weltmeister zu werden. Für internationales Flair sorgten unsere teils extra angereisten Gäste aus Tschechien, Polen, Belgien, Schweiz, Spanien und den Niederlanden.

Am Samstag startete der Turniertag um 11 Uhr. Hier konnten nun auch die 24 teilnehmenden Frauen ihr Können aufblitzen lassen. Zunächst mussten sie sich durch 4 Gruppen mit jeweils 6 Spielerinnen kämpfen, um in Anschluss in die KO-Runden zu starten. Bis zum Halbfinale blieben die großen Sensationen bei den Frauen aus, sodass sich die drei Top-Spielerinnen laut Weltrangliste auch unter den besten vier wiederfanden. Lediglich Leni the fearless honeybadger überraschte einige und zog überzeugend ins Halbfinale ein. In eben diesem lieferte sie sich mit Headi Bobics junger Tatapan, der Weltmeisterin von 2013, das wohl engste und spannendste Spiel der Frauen-WM in diesem Jahr. Erst im 3. Satz und nach Matchbällen für beide Kontrahentinnen setzte sich Tatapan durch und zog abermals ins Finale ein und hielt ihren Traum von der Titelverteidigung am Leben. Ebenfalls knapp siegte die Weltranglisten-Erste und Favoritin Red Hot Chili Headers missing Pepper gegen Elligator, die nach 2013 wieder ins Finale einziehen wollte, mit 11:9 in beiden Sätzen. Elligator schaffte es wiederrum schnell ihren Frust durch das verlorene Halbfinale abzulegen und bezwang Leni the fearless honeybadger ebenfalls in 2 Sätzen mit jeweils 11:9. Im großen Finale, in dem es neben dem Weltmeistertitel und den Trophäen auch um eine brandneue und offizielle Turnierplatte unseres Partners SPONETA ging, traf nun also die Weltranglisten-Anführerin Red Hot Chili Headers missing Pepper auf die Weltmeisterin von 2013 Headi Bobics junger Tatapan. Nicht wenige hätten vor Turnierbeginn auf diese Begegnung im Finale gewettet. Und die Mädels hielten, was die Zuschauer sich von der Partie versprachen. Missing Pepper zeigte dabei keinerlei Nervenschwäche und konnte das Spiel für sich entscheiden. Die verdiente Weltmeisterin 2013 heißt also RED HOT CHILI HEADERS MISSING PEPPER alias Susan Meinel. Glückwunsch vom gesamten Headis-Team!

Bei den Männern kam es hingegen schon früh zu einigen Überraschungen und Favoritensterben. So schaffte es beispielsweise Headbrötchen mit Zwiebeln, als einer der großen Turnierfavoriten, nicht seine Gruppe zu gewinnen und trat daher bereits im 16-tel Finale auf einen anderen der Topspieler nämlich das Lauchgesicht. Dieser gewann souverän und beförderte das Headbrötchen früh aus dem Turnier. Er blieb dort allerdings nicht allein, denn auch der Headis-Erfinder Headi Potter gesellte sich zu ihm und schied ebenfalls im 16-tel Finale gegen Hans de Bour aus. Wie bei den Frauen setzten sich die 3 Topspieler Sniper Schorsch, Lauchgesicht und Heinken allerdings mehr oder weniger souverän durch und zogen, wie schon die Woche zuvor in München, ins Halbfinale ein. Der letzte Halbfinalist war Lord Voldehead, der seine hervorragende Form von 2014 bestätigte. Der Lord bekam es mit dem Lauchgesicht zu tun. In einem überaus spannenden Semi-Finale zerstörte Lord Voldehead die Weltmeisterträume des Lauchgesichts in 3 Sätzen und zog verdient ins Finale ein. Nicht weniger traurig als das Lauchgesicht präsentierte sich Sniper Schorsch nach seiner Niederlage gegen den bärenstarken Heineken. Dieser wollte zum dritten Mal in Folge unbedingt in das Finale und seinen zweiten Weltmeistertitel einsacken. Nachdem der erste Satz mit 12:10 noch knapp an den Sniper ging, drehte Heineken auf und ließ seinem Kontrahenten keine Chance mehr. Die Sätze 2 und 3 gingen mit 11:3 und 11:5 sehr deutlich für den Göttinger aus. Im kleinen Finale um Platz 3 kam es also zur Neuauflage der Finals des Weltcups auf dem Breakfest und dem Munich Mash. In den Niederlanden behielt das Lauchgesicht die Oberhand und in München gewann Sniper Schorsch denkbar knapp mit 16:14 im 3. Satz. Die Begegnung versprach also Spannung der Extraklasse! Auch diesmal fiel die Entscheidung über Sieg oder Niederlage erst im 3. Satz in der „Overtime“. Lauchgesicht gewann diesen Entscheidungssatz mit 12:10 und feierte seine gelungene Revanche. Aufgrund eines plötzlichen Unwetters konnte das diesjährige große Finale der Herren-Weltmeisterschaft leider nicht am Spielfeldrand des Fritz-Walter-Stadions durchgeführt werden. Für die Atmosphäre und die Spannung war das allerdings alles andere als hinderlich. Schnell wurden alle übrigen Tische um die Finalplatte herum geschoben, sodass alle Zuschauer einen optimalen Blick genießen konnten. Selbst viele Fans des 1. FC Kaiserslautern vergaßen das Testspiel ihres Fußball-Teams und schlossen sich lieber den begeisterten Finalzuschauern an. Schon zu Beginn des Finals sah man im Blick des Weltmeisters von 2012, dass er nach 2013 nicht sein zweites Finale in Folge verlieren wollte. Eiskalt zog er sein Spiel durch und nahm Lord Voldehead früh die Hoffnung auf dessen zweiten WM-Titel. Trotzdem zeigte auch der Lord einige Aktionen der Kategorie „Weltklasse“. Heineken hatte aus Sicht des Lord Voldehead aus Salzgitter leider noch mehr dieser Ausnahmeaktionen und bezwang ihn daher verdient mit 11:5 und 11:7. Der Titel und die neue Headis-Platte von Sponeta ging damit abermals nach Göttingen. Herzlichen Glückwunsch noch einmal an HEINEKEN alias Christoph Heinecke!
